Hello, my name is Dana Gary and it is an honor to serve as the principal here at Pembroke Elementary School. Our vision here at Pembroke Elementary is Pembroke Elementary where we strive for CLASS- Children, Learning, All, Skills, Successfully. We want to ensure that we are teaching students all the skills they need in order to become successful not only here at Pembroke Elementary but in life in general. Our Guidelines for Success are Pembroke Owls are WISE- Willing to learn, Improve ourselves daily, Show respect and kindness, and Exhibit cooperation. We believe that these guidelines help to make people successful in life in general.
Pembroke Elementary is an extra special place to me, as I attended school here when I was growing up, and Mr. Charlie Duncan was my principal. My father and aunt also attended the original Pembroke School. I substitute taught here when I would come home from college, and I did my student teaching here. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University, my masters from Austin Peay State University, and my Rank I from Indiana Wesleyan University. I have been in education since 1996 and I have worked at Millbrooke Elementary and South Christian Elementary as a teacher. I continued to serve at South Christian as a curriculum specialist, and then became an instructional coach for the district and worked at Holiday Elementary and Hopkinsville Middle School. I became the principal here at Pembroke in 2015 and plan on retiring from this position.
It is a privilege to serve with the teachers and staff here at Pembroke Elementary. I believe they are the best there is, as we constantly strive to work together to make sure that our students are safe and taken care of while they are growing and learning each day. It takes a team effort to make sure that our students have the best education possible. We appreciate your support in this. Thank you for everything and again it is an honor.
We are #Pembrokeproud
